Q:Which do you consider
more important in your writing, a sense of place, your experiences,
or something else altogether? Why is this important to you?
My experiences and my travels have helped me teach others how to quit
smoking. I have both a medical and spiritual background, this helps
me a great deal with understanding the addiction. Nicotine is an addiction
and many smokers want to quit, but don't know how. Many have tried
the Patch, The Pill and Cold Turkey methods, but these only mask the
urge. The habit and emotions remains within the smoking, thus after
each attempt to quit, something brings them back to smoking. A stressful
event, Painful withdrawal symptoms, a habit. To get rid of the addiction
you must go within. This is what separates me, as an author from the
rest. I have tried Allen Carrs method and it has helped me quit,
but it did not help me stay a non-smoker. My method is design to make
you a non-smoker for the rest of your life. My book helps with the
spirit to help smokers quit forever, along with not gaining weight.
One needs to deal with the whole: Mind, Body and Spirit.
Q:What are your influences and inspirations? What makes you write?
My inspirations to write is my strong feelings against Nicotine and
Tobacco Smoke. Tobacco smoke kills and Nicotine is more addictive
than most street drugs. Smokers, know this, but ignore the facts out
of denial or simply because it is too hard to quit. Depression is
severe in many, who quit. I offer to the reader many Spiritual, Nutritional
and Scientific advice to help the smoker end their habit without too
much stress. My travels around the globe has taught me a lot and my
book, Nic-the habit helps others to learn these teaching without traveling
to the Himalayas. Nic the Habit is an honest insight into their inner
spirit. I have given many smoking cessation lectures and also other
public speaking seminars and I have been always told that I should
write a book or do tapes. I finally did it and now I know that I found
my niche in the world. I tried Medicine, along with being a researcher
and I have worked in the business world, but nothing is more satisfying
than helping others Nic-their habit.
Q:Is there a particular aspect of your book (or books) that you
are most proud of?
Most, who written me, who have also read my book, write that my book
has helped them deal with their Nicotine addiction and also with other
issues in their life. This makes me very happy. I enjoy helping others.
I am glad that I can share with so many my experiences of traveling
around the world, meeting different cultures and sharing their stories
with the world. I am glad that God has given me the gift of public
speaking and the love to help another..
Q:What is unique about your book, what differentiates it from other
books in the same category? What about it will reach out and grab
the reader?
What makes my book unique from all the other smoking-cessation books
on the market is that Nic-the Habit: cigarettesmokingkills.com has
a website with links that keeps the book current along with bulletin
boards and chat features where others can contact me or correspond
with other smokers/non-smokers to help them Kick their Nicotine habit.
The blending of science and spirituality is the main essences that
separates me from the rest.
Q:Are you working on something now? In what ways is it a departure
from what you've done in the past?
My main goal is to help the world quit smoking. I will do professional
seminar named Nic-the Habit. I have developed a Hypnotic/ Subliminal
CDs with a professional spiritual healer and hypnotist, together we
have created an amazing Quit Smoking CD with music that stimulates
the brainwaves to absorb the positive affirmations, along with increasing
reprogramming the smoker to a nonsmoker.
Q:iUniverse.com offers an Author Toolkit. Have you used any of
the tips there? If so, tell us about some of your successes. If
you haven't used it, would you share any tips or suggestions that
other authors might find useful in promoting their books?
I have use a lot of their marketing tips for promoting my book via
the Internet and writting promotional material. I am scheduled to
do a chat with Iuniverse.com on Sept 4.
